Is here any research into or are here any adjectives developments into anticoagulants for blood donations?

I am writing an essay on the past, present and adjectives of blood transfusion donation anticoagulants and preservatives. Well, the other reply was correct roughly speaking any anticoagulant added having to be secure; not cause complications for the receiver of the blood, but wrong about adjectives being competent to stop blood coagulation; it is not very significant.
What is wrong with the present additives? AFAICR, they make the addition of glucose and citrate and adenosine. The citrate can be metabolised by the recipient, as food animation, so it will not cause trouble. It works all right, AFAIK.
Not sure if reserch is ongoing but it is not prudent to put an anti coagulant in blood donations as this might inflict medical complications. Blood is keept Cold to prevent coagulation.
